Switzerland: Zurich Old Town Walk

May 25, 2015 ---- Nathan and I planned to be in Switzerland for 6 days, and our first stop was Zurich. We took a bus from Munich to Zurich, which was about 4 hours. As soon as we arrived at the bus terminal, Zurich Train Station was just a few steps away. We stored our luggage in a locker there for CHF 9; we got a large locker because we had 3 bags. Everything in Switzerland is extremely expensive, and to use a public toilet in the train station, you have to pay about CHF2.

A lot of people get into Switzerland through Zurich, but only few actually take the time to see the largest city of Switzerland. Zurich is actually quite nice for tourism because there are a few places worth visiting, such as in the Old Town area.

Nathan and I picked up a free city map from the Tourist Information located in the train station. We decided to do the "Old Town Walk" following the map. On the route we walked past many major highlights of the city and went into a few churches. It could have taken only a couple hours to finish the tour, but we lingered longer in the churches because it was raining while we were there. We also went off the route toward Zürichorn Park too.

Overall, Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland, but to us it feels like a vacation town. There are museums, churches, shopping squares, and some natural beauty that are worth a few hours of visiting or a day-trip. My favorite spot is Lindenhof where we got the best view of the city.
