March 7, 2015 ---- Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a small medieval town located above the Tauber River, and it's the main tourist stop along the Romantic Road. A day-trip from Munich to Rothenburg od der Tauber is doable, but I would suggest that you should spend a night there. The town is very small and has a few churches and museums that are worth visiting, and you probably can finish everything in a day. However, the train ride from Munich takes a little longer than 3 hours and involves 2 changes, so you might end up spending more time on the train than in the city itself!
Attractions:
1. Square: Marktplatz
2. Museums: Mittelalterliches Kriminalmuseum, Reichsstadtmuseums, Deutsches Weihnachtsmuseum, etc.
3. Historical Buildings: Town Walls, Röderturm, Rathaus, Alt-Rothenburger Handwerkerhaus
4. Churches: Jakobskirche
Our Trip Itinerary:

To enter: Reichsstadtmuseums -- Jakobskirche
To eat: Have some drinks and dessert at one of the cafes in Marktplatz!
Our Favorite Site: We loved walking on the Town Walls.
